Brief Introduction

This Optical Workstation is an ideal solution for medium/large HFC network that requests redundancy and high reliability.
Forward-path optical receiver, return-path optical transmitter, and SNMP responder are built as plug-in units. One optical workstation can be loaded with 2 forward-path optical receivers, 2 return-path optical transmitters, and 2 power supply units, providing good redundancy. The embedded “A/B Switch” senses parameters and switches to back up unit automatically.
Optical AGC is functioned on this optical workstation. The optical AGC keeps RF specifications constant when optical input power varies.

Forward-path is built with 4 RF outputs. Each RF      is independently amplified. Gain control and slope control is independently regulated too. The “MGC Control Board” on forward-path provides precision overall gain control, 0.5dB/step.
